Android permission
Exact Alarm Declaration
Effective 14 July 2026
Purpose
Turnki may request Android exact-alarm access only when an adult enables a reminder whose timing is important, such as a medicine dose. Exact alarms support the user-visible, time-sensitive function of reminding the concerned adult at the time they selected.
User control
Turnki checks whether exact-alarm access is available before scheduling a medicine dose. If access is denied or unavailable, the app uses an inexact fallback and tells the user that delivery may be delayed. Other appointments and daily-life reminders use inexact alarms. The user can deactivate a medicine schedule or remove exact-alarm access in Android settings.
Reliability
Turnki restores enabled alarms after a device reboot and keeps precise parent-device reminders local so they can work without an internet connection. Firebase messages signal shared changes and caregiver missed-dose alerts; they are not used as the precise dose alarm.
Limits
Device settings, battery restrictions, operating-system behavior, and hardware conditions can delay or prevent a notification. Turnki should not be the only safeguard for critical medication or emergency care.
